Workshop at the Honolulu Zoo (August 2022)The Menehune (ages five and six) and ʻImiloa (ages seven and eight) classes at zoo camp participated in learning about plastic and its environmental impact. While these kids already knew how plastic affected animals in their environment, they also learned how plastic relates to climate change, which also impacts animals and their habitats. We wire wrapped plastic collected from beaches and the kids showed off their necklaces and wore them for the duration of their time at zoo camp!

Workshop at the Children’s Discovery Center (July 2022)Kids ranging from five to seven years old engaged in a lesson on plastic pollution and wire wrapping. We were impressed by the knowledge these young kids already had about environmental issues and are excited that they will be the environmental spokespersons and leaders of our future!

Club Meetings (January 2021 and on!)Since January 2021, Plastic 4 a Purpose has held monthly club meetings with high school students at Punahou School. We start off each meeting with a mini lesson on plastic pollution and then proceed into wire wrapping. Our meetings are often filled with after school chats, laughter, and (of course) dessert! We love the Earth and our club members will be change makers in the future!
